Men in the UK will soon be able to buy Viagra over the counter for the first time after the erectile dysfunction drug was reclassified.
Those aged 18 and over will no longer need to see a GP for a prescription after the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) announced that it is changing the status of Viagra Connect tablets so they can be sold in pharmacies following a conversation with a pharmacist.
US pharmaceutical company Pfizer said it is working on plans to launch the non-prescription version of the medicine in the UK in the spring of 2018. A four-pack of the sildenafil tablets will cost around £19.99 and an eight-pack £34.99. Men who buy it will be advised that they can take a 50 mg tablet an hour before having sex, but should not use more than one pill a day. Sildenafil is already available on NHS prescription free of charge.
The decision to reclassify the drug follows a public consultation, the MHRA said. Pharmacists will be able to determine whether treatment is appropriate for the patient and can give advice on erectile dysfunction, usage of the medicine, potential side effects and assess if further consultation with a general practitioner is required.
“The move to make Viagra Connect more widely accessible will encourage men to seek help within the healthcare system and increase awareness of erectile dysfunction.”
Mick Foy, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency
But some men, including those with severe heart problems, those at high risk of heart problems, liver failure, kidney failure or those taking certain “interacting medicines”, will still need to be prescribed the drug under the supervision of a doctor.
It is hoped that making the drug more widely available will mean than men who may have not previously sought help will be more likely to do so. Health officials also hope the move will also help steer people away from buying drugs websites operating illegally.
The MHRA said that erectile dysfunction medicines are a “popular target” for criminals selling unlicensed and counterfeit medicines, over the past five years the Agency has seized more than £50m of unlicensed and counterfeit erectile dysfunction medicines.
“This decision is good news for men’s health,” said Mick Foy, MHRA’s group manager in vigilance and risk management of medicines. “The move to make Viagra Connect more widely accessible will encourage men to seek help within the healthcare system and increase awareness of erectile dysfunction.
“Erectile dysfunction can be a debilitating condition, so it’s important men feel they have fast access to quality and legitimate care, and do not feel they need to turn to counterfeit online supplies which could have potentially serious side effects.”
Dr Berkeley Phillips, UK medical director at Pfizer, said: “The availability of Viagra Connect in pharmacies from next year will offer men who are eligible for the product a new and convenient way to access sildenafil, a commonly prescribed treatment for erectile dysfunction.
“We understand some men may avoid seeking support and treatment for this condition, so we believe giving them the option to talk to a pharmacist and buy Viagra Connect could be a real step forward in encouraging more men into the healthcare system.
“As erectile dysfunction may be a sign of an underlying condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease, there could also be a wider benefit to public health in the long term. We hope that this forthcoming new opportunity to purchase a genuine treatment via pharmacy will also reduce the likelihood of men turning to potentially ineffective and dangerous counterfeits from illicit sources.”
The decision to reclassify the patented medicine follows a public consultation, the MHRA saidThe MHRAInitial plan for the drug had been to make Viagra Connect more widely available but the consultation with a doctor has since been stopped and aowderx*approved

The first world-wide clinical trial, the International Olympic Committee, has shown that Viagra and Cialis are equivalent, in some cases, in erectile dysfunction.
This was a small, single-subject, single-day trial in which participants were asked to do various activities such as dozing, walking, swimming, or cycling. All participants took part in the study, which is known as an “anxiety-free, low-risk” study. The investigators are currently conducting a phase 3, randomized, double-blind, parallel group, phase 4, double-masked, non-inferiority trial (NIMS).
The current research is based on a study of men taking Cialis and Viagra. Participants were asked to complete a questionnaire, which was completed by participants. The investigators will be able to monitor these results to determine if this study will influence their treatment. The results of the study will be published in an online publication in the journal “Sexual Medicine.”
A study in the United States was planned to be conducted in April 2020.
In this study, participants in a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial were asked to take one pill of Viagra at three different times each day. After completing the first questionnaire, participants were asked to take one pill of Cialis at the same time each day. After completing the second questionnaire, participants were asked to take one pill of Viagra at the same time each day.
Participants completed the questionnaire again in December 2020. This study was conducted as part of a larger study involving people at risk of erectile dysfunction and to treat erectile dysfunction. The researchers wanted to determine if the changes in erectile function reported by participants during the study were due to a general lack of interest or that the changes were not being caused by any physical or psychological factors.
The researchers were interested in the effects of taking Viagra at the same time each day and in the changes in erection hardness during the study. Participants also were interested in the effect of taking Viagra at the same time each day and in the changes in erection hardness during the study. The researchers wanted to determine if the changes in erection hardness were the result of the physical factors that have been discussed in the previous studies.
Participants who took Viagra at the same time each day were randomly assigned to take the two medications. A pilot study was planned to measure the effects of the medications on an individual's erectile function. This study was not expected to affect participants' ability to achieve or maintain an erection.
Participants were recruited from the community of New York City and the surrounding states. They were recruited through the New York City Web site.
The research team has received funding from the NIH under a grant provided by its National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, National Institute of Clinical Excellence, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. This grant has been supported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
The first thing you should know about buying your first ED pill is that it's not a drug, it's a medication, and if you think you might be suffering from some side effects of Viagra, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
This is not an exhaustive list of side effects, so there are a few things to keep in mind when you're considering buying an ED pill. Firstly, it's important to speak with your GP, pharmacist, or doctor about the possible risks and benefits of taking a Viagra tablet. This will help you to weigh the risks and benefits against the potential side effects, so you can decide whether or not you need to take Viagra for ED treatment.
Secondly, it's important to note that if you're taking any form of ED medication, including Viagra, you shouldn't take it if you're already taking an unlicensed medicine. The same goes for those with an underlying medical condition or are taking other prescription drugs, such as nitrate medications or heart medications. The only way to know if you're taking Viagra is to check with your doctor or pharmacist.
If you're unsure, there are several things you can do to ensure you're getting the best possible treatment for your condition. For example, you should be able to speak to your GP about any pre-existing medical conditions or medications you're currently taking. Also, if you've recently stopped taking the medication, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the possibility of side effects. Remember, while buying an ED pill online, you can be more cautious about buying your Viagra online, as it's possible to be sold through unlicensed pharmacies.
If you have any doubts about your Viagra dosage, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist to ensure you're getting the right dose for your condition. They will be able to advise you on whether or not to take the medication or to have an online consultation with a licensed healthcare professional.
Lastly, there are some things to keep in mind when you're taking Viagra: It's important to take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor and not to alter the dosage without medical advice. Viagra can have potentially serious side effects, so it's always better to talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new treatment.
In conclusion, it's important to speak with your doctor or pharmacist about any potential side effects and to decide whether or not you need to take Viagra for ED treatment.
